He wrote his first screenplay, I Killed My Mother, at the age of 16. The semi-autobiographical film, which he directed, produced, and starred in, received an 8-minute standing ovation at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival.

As a voice actor, he has dubbed for stars like Eddie Redmayne, Nicholas Hoult, Taylor Lautner (in the Twilight series), Rupert Grint (in the Harry Potter series), Dylan O’Brien, etc. in the French version of Hollywood films.

Titanic (1997) is one of the films he saw as a kid that had a massive influence on him.

He cut Jessica Chastain‘s role in The Death & Life of John F. Donovan (2019) in the post-production phase due to time constraints. The film, which was his debut English venture, was panned by critics.

In 2015, Xavier directed the music video for Adele‘s hit single, Hello (from the album 25). The video was shot in IMAX and garnered 1 billion YouTube views in a matter of 87 days.
